Vasyl' Barka (1908 - 2003), writer and translator. Born in Poltava, he worked as a teacher in the Kuban. There in 1932-1933 24-year-old Barca was on the verge of starvation. He described the Holodomor in the novel "Yellow Prince". According to "Le Monde" in 1967, "Yellow Prince" - "the best artwork in post-war Europe about one of the most difficult topics."
