General Prosecutor's Office presented the results of the analysis of the events at Ilovaisk in August 2014.
Among the reasons for the death of a large number of military and the operation' failure, Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoly Matios called, first of all, a significant numerical superiority of Russian troops, as well as deficiencies in the organization and supply. The names of the officials who are responsible for the events in Ilovaisk, prosecutor promised to name in a few months.
Also named the official figures on the losses of the Ukrainian side and the balance of forces with the troops of the Russian Federation and the separatist republics. 366 Ukrainian soldiers and policemen were killed, 429 were injured and 128 were taken prisoner, 158 are missing.
